I am a novelist, an artist, and I write about the menstrual cycle and natural birth control and I have lots of opinions and experiences that I look foward to blogging.
After graduating from Antioch College, I was Writer-in-residence at South Boston High (1983 - 89), the school that became famous through busing and desegregation. In 1991, I landed in New Mexico and began writing The Wholeness of a Broken Heart. The novel was published in 1999 by Riverhead/Penguin; it was a selection of Barnes & Noble's Discover Great New Writers Program.
My new book, The Garden of Fertility: A Guide to Charting Your Fertility Signals to Prevent or Achieve Pregnancy - Naturally - and to Gauge Gynecological Health, was published in 2004 by Avery/Penguin. Please visit www.GardenofFertility.com to learn more about Fertility Awareness and this book.
I'm now working on a new novel and a collection of essays about fertility, creativity, and nature. I also speak about a variety of topics, including publishing and the importance of the menstrual cycle to female identity, at conferences around the country.
